Notice of Public Hearing - Zoning Amendment - 280 9th St

5 May 2026

PURPOSE:

The applicant is proposing to add Waste Collection and Transfer Station as a site-specific permission at 280 9th Street to allow a facility that would be dedicated to the collection, treatment, separation, consolidation, temporary storage, and shipment of non-hazardous waste that is produced off-site. Hazardous waste, as defined in the Environmental Management Act Hazardous Waste Regulation, is not included, nor is the discharge of waste.

The subject property is an existing light industrial site in the northwest corner of Service Centre, with frontage on 9th Street and an unconstructed section of Railway Avenue. If approved, this amendment would be specific to the subject property, and the use would not be permitted on any other M2-B zoned sites.
