24 Farrow - Temporary Use Permit Proposal

PURPOSE

The purpose of the TUP is to permit the operation of a dog grooming service as a home-based business. Home Occupation is not a permitted use in R1-A zoning regulations. Therefore, the TUP is being sought to allow this activity for a limited term, subject to conditions of Home Occupation in the Kitimat Municipal Code.

TUPs may be issued for a maximum of three years and may be renewed once for up to an additional three years. The applicant is requesting a TUP for the maximum three years.


WAYS TO PARTICIPATE


PROVIDING COMMENT

Pursuant to Sections 9.2.2.17 and 9.2.2.19 of the Kitimat Municipal Code, when an application for a TUP is submitted, the Director of Community Planning & Development may issue the permit upon receipt of all required fees, supporting documentation, completion of the public review process, and consideration of staff recommendations. Council will be notified of any staff decisions and will retain its role as the appeal body. Public comments will be considered as part of the decision-making process and will be accepted until Thursday, April 16, 2026.

A copy of the application and proposed permit is available here or at the District of Kitimat Municipal Office, 270 City Centre, 8:30 am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays.
