Development Variance Permit Application

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Development Variance Permit is to reduce the setback requirements for the purposes of constructing a garage in the R2-A Residential zone. R2-A zoning requires a 4.5 metre setback from the front property line and a 1.2 metre setback from the rear property line. The applicant has requested a reduction to 4.2 metres for the front setback and 0.7 metres for the rear setback.

PROVIDING COMMENT

Comments and feedback must be received before 12:00 pm on April 20th, 2026, to be provided for Council consideration. All submissions for this Notice will become part of the public record and made available for public inspection at the District of Kitimat office. We welcome your attendance at the April 20th, 2026, Council Meeting to receive comments submitted after 12:00 pm.

A copy of the application package is available for review here or at the District of Kitimat Municipal Office, 270 City Centre, 8:30 am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays.
