Get Involved Kitimat is the public's new online source for information about our major projects.

We have made this page to make our projects easier to learn about and to integrate engagement tools so you can quickly and easily offer your thoughts about the work we are doing.

In January 2023 we asked through community survey what works and what can be improved in District of Kitimat communications.

Through that survey we asked what you want to know more about, and the top response was "Municipal Projects".

We also asked what barriers prevent the public from reaching out to the District. We heard things such as "Don't know who to talk to" and "Don't feel my message will make a difference."

With the knowledge of both what the public wants to hear about and what stands in the way of the two-way dialogue, we developed Get Involved Kitimat to address both those items.

Get Involved Kitimat will strive to offer the following for each of our projects:

• Visible contact information to directly reach District of Kitimat staff
• Information that is easy to understand
• Clear project timelines
• Ability for visitors to sign up to this site and Follow any projects for updates as they become available
• Engagement tools as appropriate to solicit community feedback
